New Canaan, Conn., January 09, 2018 —The Tim Tebow Foundation has once again selected Grace Community Church in New Canaan, collaborating with STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way, to be one of over 550 locations in sixteen countries to host simultaneously an unforgettable prom night for young adults with disabilities and their “buddy” peers on Friday evening February 9 from 6-9 p.m.
The non-denominational evening celebrates the unique value of every individual, with a focus on young adults with special needs ages 14-25. Julia Hughes, Executive Director of Grace Community Church said, “We’re thrilled to bring back this incredible event and to collaborate with so many of our neighbors from throughout Fairfield County. We know that Tim Tebow has generously designed protocols to ensure a really special evening for these young adults and we look forward to creating another night to remember at Grace Farms!”
Guests will be crowned as kings and queens, supported by their typical peers and event volunteers for assignments including red carpet greeting, crowning ceremony, decorations, food & beverages, paparazzi, photography, parking, safety and more. Volunteers of all ages and youth groups are welcome.
Katie Banzhaf, Executive Director of STAR said, “Last year’s Night to Shine was celebrated as a once in a lifetime experience for people with special needs, where all were treated royally. We want to reach out to everyone in the area who qualifies to be guests to join us for the return of this incredible, free event hosted by our friends at Grace Community Church.”
